Hello,

quite recently the text menu on my FSFK ACARS device started disappearing. I get the tests passed OK, the map and other fuctions working, configuration functions on the bluish transparent screen OK, but no text menu displays after pressing the "globe". Black screen.
I reinstalled FSFK, reinstalled the acars device on aircraft, still the same problem. Sometimes it shows up (only at the beginning), but more often than not.

I really don't know, but can you please check the following things when this happens (preferred way would be to test it in the default 737, so we can be sure that no addon is the cause):

- Check that the avionic switch is on (use FS hotkey if no switch is available in the aircraft)
- Try to turn on the device (maybe it's just turned off)
- Try to adjust the brightness on the device

This will help to see if the device is still "alive" or really dead. Does this happen on a specific aircraft? What has been changed before the problem started?

Thank you for the reply.

All the three tests have been done already. Problem persists.

I use PMDG 737 and 738. Anti-virus off when using FS.

Recent changes
- activation FS in safe mode once, then normally.
- reinstallation of graphic driver: Geforce 7000 series, the latest driver.


Then all was OK, Acars Device worked fine. An then, during a flight it stopped showing the menu (but first the menu was on but the keys were not working - could not "go back" for example. Then the menu wouldn't show.

The next day morning - works fine. In the evening - no menu. So I reinstalled the aircraft, and reinstalled the FSFK. Removed the device using device installer, saved the configuration, and installed the hot spot and the device.

Then for two days, flying a few flights online - no menu.

After reading your reply I started the FS to test again on different acft - and all is fine again, the menu is suddenly back :o . One more thing - I also use AS 6.5 set do download Vatsim weather - but now I've changed the weather to VATSIM in FSFK, maybe that's the reason.

Strange as it is... :?

And then again - 3 hours later - black screen again. I am getting a little bit irritated, as I have been trying hard to get things right and I cannot rely on the software I have purchased.
I don't really know - does the sequence of starting up applications matter?
Vroute collides?
Navigraph collides?
Dolomynumk collides?
AS 6.5? - Weather in Acars device set to be downloaded from Vatsim...
All worked perfectly fine 3 hours ago.

There's another thing - when I start FS and choose PMDG737, the device waits for connection with FSFK and once FSFK is activated, the software seems to work fine. However, when I start FS and choose 738, nothing is going to kill the black menu screen and there is no message of waiting for connection. Generally it seems to work ok for 737, and not for 738. The 737 and 738 come in the same installation package, they have the same panels, although I installed the ACARS device separately for 737 and 738 (PMDG).

Totally helpless now.

Currently I have no idea. I think the best is if I send you a debug version to generate a log file. Can you please contact me via the FSFK support email address and I will send you the gauge debug version.
